Energy by Julia E

“The world belongs to the energetic.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

It’s easy to blame our failure to meet our goals or to live our dream lives on a lack of energy, and we don’t always stop to think about the quality of energy in our lives. Yet we can choose to create and manage our own energy flow.

Think of an instance when you’ve been so involved in an activity that you’ve lost track of time, and then identify the passions and energies you were feeding. Who was there with you? What were you doing? What will you do to make time for moments like that one more often?

I would have to say that the last time I lost track of time because  I was enjoying the activity was when I rearranged my blog.  The last week of school was a really busy time so many of my posts were not what  I wanted them to be.  Once school was out, I sat down and reviewed the posts and decided that I needed to spend more time thinking about the prompts before publishing them.

I also wasn’t happy with the background that I had previously chosen on the blog, so that day I took my time and found one that fit my style and personality better.

There was no one with me.  It was just me, my coffee, and my laptop.  I spent the same amount of hours editing and updating my blog as I would have if I would have been at work.  The time flew by and I really got a lot accomplished.  I had no idea that I had spent that much time working like that.  I realized that I enjoy writing and keeping this blog more than I knew.  I have the entire summer to dedicate to writing and a few other endeavors.  I am going to take full advantage of it too.
