Mirror, Mirror

Mirror, Mirror by Esther Poyer

“Truth is beautiful, without doubt; but so are lies.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Mirror, mirror on the wall… find the nearest mirror. Look. Keep looking for 3 minutes. Write about what you see.   (Author: Esther Poyer)

Let me start by saying that I don’t believe that lies are beautiful!  Whether lying to oneself or others, the truth will somehow be revealed, I guess making it an ugly truth.  I could go on and on about this, but I won’t so that I can get to the prompt.

When I looked in the mirror for 3 minutes (which seemed like a very short time) I saw a lady who is aging gracefully, looks peaceful, is content and could probably use a nap.

I also saw the following:

*a body, that is slowly transforming back to an hourglass shape

*red toenails

*nice legs

*tanned skin

*long, dark hair

*a smiling face

Then I took a closer look at my face and saw:

*glossy lips

*teeth that need whitening and straightening

*a few pimples

*some new freckles

*brown eyes

*bushy eyebrows

*new additions to my crown of splendor (Proverbs 16:31)
